Als Walt Disney Disneyland erschuf wollte er die Möglichkeit haben seine Geschichten dreidimensional erzählen zu können. Er konnte die Sets für diese Geschichten bauen - doch ein gewisses Element fehlte noch: die Figuren.

Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast eröffnet in nicht einmal 2 Monaten, an den Fundamenten der Toon Studios wird bereits gearbeitet und auch der Tower of Terror nimmt bereits sichtbar Form an - die Gäste der beiden Themenparks im Disneyland Resort Paris können sich auf eine ganze Menge Neues in den kommenden Jahren freuen ... bis 2007/2008. Und dann? Nun, dann kommt noch mehr neues! Vor einigen Tagen berichtete DLP.info bereits, dass das Finanzpaket zur Erweiterung der beiden Themenparks aus dem Jahr 2004 auch noch ein Budget für eine neue Attraktion 2009 umfasst. Nach einigem beeindruckenden Imagineering im DLP.info Forum haben uns jetzt interne Quellen einen neuen Blick auf die gegenwärtigen(!) Pläne für die geheime 4. Attraktion gewährt. Laut diesen Quellen hat Imagineering bereits erste Aufmaßnahme genommen und sich näher mit verschiedenen technischen Lösungsansätze beschäftigt und treibt jetzt detiallierte Pläne voran. Aber wofür?
Nun laut den aktuellen Plänen soll es sich um Mickey's Philarmagic handeln, die dann auch im Disneyland Resort Paris präsentiert werden soll! Bisher ist der computer-animierte 3D-Film nur im Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World und in Hong Kong Disneyland zu sehen, auch wenn schon zur Weltpremiere in Walt Disney World erste Gerüchte auftauchten, die Attraktion solle schon bald ihren Siegeszug rund um den Globus antreten.
Die nächste Frage ist dann natürlich: wo im Disneyland Resort Paris soll der Film präsentiert werden? Und die Antwort lautet: nicht im Disneyland Park, sondern in den Walt Disney Studios. Wo dort? Nun hier sind sich die Quellen nicht einig. Teilweise heißt es in Soundstage 2, teilweise aber heißt es aber auch in Soundstage 3. Einig ist man sich scheinbar nur, dass kein neues Theater gebaut wird, sondern entweder Animagique (Soundstage 3) oder Cinemagique (Soundstage 2) ihren Platz räumen müssen. Die Grundfläche beider Theater ist identisch und beide würden einen aufwendigen Umbau erfahren müssen, da die aktuelle Gestaltung des Zuschauerraumes es nicht zulässt, die Leinwand an drei Seiten um den Gast zu ziehen (links, vorne und rechts).
Allerdings: bis 2009 kann sich noch vieles ändern - besonders da die internen Quellen auch übereinstimmen, dass die Attraktion erst nach der Eröffnung des Tower of Terror angekündigt werden soll. Bis dahin können sich Pläne noch mehrfach ändern, besonders da auch das neue Management von Imagineering noch ein Wörtchen mitzureden hat. Also bleibt es ersteinmal bei einem Gerücht - wenn auch von vertrauenswürdigen Quellen.

With Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast opening in less than 2 months, the Toon Studios having finally broken ground and even the Tower of Terror shaping up, guests of both theme parks at Disneyland Resort Paris have a lot to look forward to in the next years ... till 2007/2008. But what then? Well, there is more after that! Just a few days ago DLP.info reported that the financing for the theme park expansion as agreed upon in 2004 included a budget for another new attraction in 2009. After some great Imagineering on the DLP.info Forum internal sources have provided us with an updated look at the current(!) plans for the secret 4th attraction. According to these sources Imagineering already has taken first measurements and looked into different technical approaches and is currently moving ahead with further detailed plans for the 4th attraction. But what attraction will it be?
Well, according to current plans the 4D presentation Mickey's Philarmagic is coming to Disneyland Resort Paris! So far the computer-animated 3D-movie is only presented in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World and at Hong Kong Disneyland, but rumors have been around since its world premiere in Walt Disney World, that the show was meant to become the next "franchise" attraction to go global.
Certainly the next question is: where will it open in the Disneyland Resort Paris? And the answer is: it will not be in the Disneyland Park but instead in the Walt Disney Studios. Where in the Studios? Well here seems to be a bit of a question mark. Some sources claim it will be Soundstage 2, some sources claim it will be Soundstage 3. Anyway they all agree that currently it is not planned to add a new soundstage for the movie, but to either convert the theater of Animagique (Soundstage 3) or of Cinemagique (Soundstage 2). Both Soundstages are identical as far as their foot print is concerned and both of them would need a major overhaul since the current seating in neither of the two theaters would allow for installation of the screen which surrounds guests on three sides (left, front and right).
But: a lot can change till 2009 - especially as according to the internal sources the attraction for 2009 will not be announced till after the opening of the Tower of Terror. Till then plans may change several times, especially since the new management of Imagineering might have something to say about this as well. So till then this is just another rumor - even so from reliable sources.
