Die Ankündigung erfolgte noch mit großer Fanfare: DJ Bobo würde seine spektakuläre Bühnenshow "Pirates of Dance" für vier Vorstellungen in das Disneyland Resort Paris bringen. DJ Bobo wurde mit diversen Hits bekannt, findet sich zuletzt aber seltender als gewohnt an der Spitze der Charts. Doch seine Shows sorgen dank beeindruckenden Bühnenaufbauten, Spezialeffekten und aufwendigen Inszenierungen noch immer regelmäßig für ausverkaufte Hallen. Da sich seine Bekanntheit im wesentlichen aber auf den deutschsprachigen Raum beschränkt, wurde auch die Website des Resort zum Event in Deutsch gehalten, über die Fans Informationen erhalten und Pauschalen mit Disney Hotel Aufenthalt, Themenpark- und Show-Eintrittskarten buchen konnten.
Leider hat die Nachfrage nach diesen Pauschalen nciht ganz die Erwartungen erfüllt, so dass aus den geplanten 4 Shows nunmehr nur noch 2 Shows am Samstag und Sonntag den 25. und 26. März geworden sind - übrigens zufällig das Wochenende der Buzz Lightyear Astro Blast Previews. Während die Event-Website das nocht nicht zugibt, wurde die offizielle DJ Bobo Website bereits angepasst und auch das Resort bestätigt auch Nachfrage die Streichung zweier Termine. Tatsächlich ist die Zahl der verkauften Pauschalen so klein, dass selbst zwei Shows noch übertrieben erscheinen könnten. Allerdings hoffen die Verantwortlichen auf einen deutlichen Anstieg der Nachfrage, da seit Ende vergangener Woche auch Tickets für die Shows ohne Hotelaufenthalt gebucht werden können. Einzeltickets für die Shows (die jeweils um 20.00 Uhr beginnen) kosten demach 45,- Euro für Erwachsene und 35,- Euro für Kinder (jeweils zuzüglich 10% Vorverkaufsgebühr) laut Direkt Touristik AG, dem Partner über den Buchen durch die Event-Website gehandelt werden.
Die Show wird übrigens in einem speziell angemieteten Zelt präsentiert, das voraussichtlich auf dem ehemaligen Parkplatz des Disney Village direkt neben dem Village Dome errichtet werden wird. Während aber für die Shows der selben Tournee im vergangenen Jahr im Europa Park noch eine reduzierte Fassung der Kulisse eingesetzt wurde, sollen laut unbestätigten Gerüchten in Paris die kompletten Sets zum Einsatz kommen.

It was announced with big fanfare: DJ Bobo would bring its spectacular stage show "Pirates of Dance" to the Disneyland Resort Paris for four performances. DJ Bobo became famous with numerous hits and even so he is no longer as frequently at the top of the charts in the last years as he used to be, his concert tours still sell out at most venues thanks to spectacular shows with impressive sets, special effects and incredible staging. Since he is mostly known in the German speaking markets the resort set up a special website through which guests were able to get informations and book complete packages including a stay in a Disney Hotel, theme park passports and tickets for a show.
Unfortunately the demand did not live up to the expectations and the number of shows has been reduced from the original planned four shows to just two shows on Saturday and Sunday March 25 and 26, 2006 - which happen to be the days of the previews of the new Buzz Lightyear Astro Blast attraction (as reported earlier by DLP.info). While the official event website does not yet reflect this change, the official DJ Bobo Website has been corrected and the Resort upon request confirms the change as well. So far the number of packages is so small that even two shows might be called a stretch but the management hopes that ticket sales may pick up, since starting late last week guests can book show tickets without packages as well. If booked on their own tickets for the shows (starting at 8.00 pm on both days) cost 45,- Euro per adult and 35,- Euro per child (plus 10% pre-sale-surcharge) according to Direkt Touristik AG, the official partner through which bookings from the event website are handled.
The show will be presented in a specially rented tent that most probably will be set up in the former Disney Village parking lot next to the Village Dome. But while the sets had to be cut down for the performances of the tour DJ Bobo did last year at the Europa Park in Germany, original unconfirmed reports stated that the full sets would be used in Paris.
