Nachdem der Tower of Terror nahezu seine entgültige Höhe erreicht hat (lediglich das Dach fehlt noch, die Wände haben bereits ihre maximale Höhe), durchstreifen die Fans den Disneyland Park, um sich einen Eindruck zu verschaffen, ob und wenn ja von wo der Tower im Disneyland Park aus zu sehen sein wird. Und das Ergebnis ist vergleichsweise positive. Von nahezu allen Wegen auf Bodenniveau fällt der Tower nicht auf, soweit er überhaupt zu sehen ist (was sehr selten der Fall ist). Anders sieht es vom 2. Lifthill des Big Thunder Mountain aus. Hier hat man einen nahezu perfekten Blick auf den Tower - wie auch schon zuvor auf die Studios. Auch vom obersten Deck der Mark Twain aus ist der Tower leider gut zu sehen. Eventuell sollte also über eine Erhöhung des Erdwalls zwischen Frontierland und den Walt Disney Studios nachgedacht werden. Zwar weiter entfernt aber dennoch mit einem leider guten Blick auf den Tower geschlagen sind die Aussichtspunkte der Adventure Isle.
Zur Zeit kann man von diesen Punkten aus aber nicht nur den Tower-Rohbau sondern auch zwei Kräne sehen. Zwei? Ja. Der weiter entfernt stehende Kran befindet sich am Tower und wurde gestern genutzt, um den ersten Aufzugsmotor in die obere Etage des Towers zu heben, wie auf Photos im DLP.info Forum dokumentiert wurde. Der zweite Kran steht an der Baustelle des Turtle Twisters (Toon Studios) in den WDS. Die Halle für den Turtle Twister macht übrigens auch gute Fortschritte. Nachdem bereits flache Fußelemente der Außenwände gesetzt worden waren, wurde nun das Stahlgitter für das Gießen des Hallenbodens montiert.
With the Tower of Terror nearly topped out (only the final roof-top missing, but the walls already on maximum height), fans have been roaming especially the Disneyland Park to check whether the Tower of Terror may pop up in the sightlines from inside the Disneyland Park. And the results are comparable positive. From most ground level walkways the Tower is not really obvious if at all visible (which is rather rare), even so guests on the second lift hill of Big Thunder Mountain certainly enjoy a nearly unobstructed view (as they already did of the Studios anyway). Also the Tower is pretty obvious from the top level of the Mark Twain. So maybe increasing the height of the berm behind Frontierland might be something to consider. While further away a clear view of the top section of the tower can also be enjoyed from Adventure Isle's look outs.
Currently not only the tower can be seen from these positions but also two cranes. Two cranes? Yes. The one further in the distance is positioned at the Tower. With it the first of the elevator engines was lowered into the top of the tower yesterday, as has been documented on photo in the DLP.info Forum. The second crane, the one closer to Disneyland is positioned at the construction site of the Turtle Twister (Toon Studios) in the WDS. Speaking of the Turtle Twister - after a very low first segment of the walls of its soundstage had been errected in the last weeks, now the steel elements for the pouring of the concrete floor of the soundstage seem to have been finished.
