The Walt Disney Studios are welcoming some new friends from the Pixar Studios: already visible from outside is the giant poster covering most of the Studio 1 facade facing the Frontlot. While there had been according rumors (as reported last week), the short time frame came as a surprise. More Pixar pals can be expected to arrive on the Animation Courtyard shortly, where a new photo location set resembling the logo of Monsters, Inc. is being set up between Studio 1 and Animagique. Don't expect it to be a 
temporary addition, since they even repainted a wall in the according blue color and the whole structure is rather solid.
Still not enough Pixar pals for you? Well, more are preparing their arrival for the opening of the Toon Studios 2007. The soundstage for the Turtle Twister (based on Finding Nemo) is making progress. The ground floor of the main soundstage seems to have been laid and now work has started on a smaller building located in front of the main soundstage. It is also interesting to note, that 
these ground floors are way below the ground level of the surrounding area, so the coaster may have more height difference to play with than the actual elevation of the soundstage from the surrounding area will imply.
But not everything "new" is based on creations of Pixar in the WDS. Example? Well, there is the popular Cruela de Vile street performance from last year which has returned to the Production Courtyard. Or certainly the under construction Tower of Terror. Progress there is harder to measure now, since even vertical construction work on the lobby building seems nearly finished.
