After months of partial and at least a few complete rehearsals tonight CMs will be treated to an official preview of the new fireworks spectacular at the Disneyland Park 'Wishes' one day before the public premiere ... time to reveal some details!
As is rather well known, the Wishes is based on the fireworks of the same name from Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom an is part of the worldwide 50 Years of Magic Celebration in honor of the 50th anniversary of the original Disneyland Park in Anaheim. Compared to the original version though the Paris' Wishes is considerably shorter running only 8 minutes, even so exact information which parts have been cut out are not yet available. Also the high altitude "big bang" firework effects had to be reduced due to the proximity of surrounding villages in Marne la Vallee. Instead additional emphasize is laid on projections and laser effects incorporated. The two hosts of the spectacular Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy (both from the Disney classic Pinocchio) will join the show by way of projections on the castle. Particularly the projection of the Blue Fairy which is surrounded by pixie dust created with the help of lasers is said to be stand out. According to first reports lasers have been installed on top of the Main Street, U.S.A., as well as on the castle for added effects. Firework effects will surround the castle on both sides creating a 180 degree fan of lights during the finale, which is said to be similar to the effects used at the end of the "Go the Distance" segment from Hercules in the original Wishes at Walt Disney World.

Nach Monaten mit zahlreichen Teil und einigen wenigen kompletten Proben werden heute Abend die Castmember ein offizielles Preview des neuen Feuerwerks 'Wishes' im Disneyland Park erleben dürfen - einen Tag vor der offiziellen Premiere ... Zeit einige Details zu enthüllen!
Wie mittlerweile hinlänglich bekannt ist, basiert Wishes auf dem gleichnamigen Feuerwerk aus dem Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World und ist in Paris Teil der weltweiten 50 Years of Magic Feierlichkeiten anlässlich des 50. Jubiläums des ersten Disneyland Parks in Anaheim. Im Vergleich zur Original-Fassung ist das Pariser Feuerwerk Wishes allerdings deutlich kürzer mit einer Spielzeit von nur 8 Minuten. Die genaue Liste der weggefallen Szenen ist allerdings noch nicht bekannt. Außerdem wurden die besonders lauten Feuerwerkskörper ebenso wie die Höhenfeuerwerkssegmente stark zurückgenommen aus Rücksicht auf die benachbarten Kommunen. Stattdessen wird ein Schwerpunkt auf Projektionen und Lasereffekte gelegt. So erscheinen die beiden Gastgeber, Jiminy Grille und die Blaue Fee (beide aus dem Disney Klassiker Pinocchio) mittels Projektionstechnologie auf dem Schloss. Dabei soll besonders die Blaue Fee, die dank Lasereffekten von Feenstaub umgeben ist, herausstechen. Laut ersten Berichten sollen sich Laser sowohl auf dem Schloss als auch am Kopf der Main Street, U.S.A., befinden. Feuerwerkseffekte werden das Schloss auf beiden Seiten umgeben, einschließlich eines 180 Grad Fechers während des Finales, das damit stark an den Effekt am Ende des "Go the Distance"-Segments (aus Disneys Hercules) im Magic Kingdom erinnern soll.
